EXPLORERS WALK OFF ON KANSAS CITY IN 11 INNINGS

Sioux City

Sioux City 3, Kansas City 2 (11 Innings) –Ìý

The Sioux City Explorers walked off on the Kansas City T-Bones 3-2 in 11 innings.

The Explorers scored the first run of the night in the first inning when CFÌýLuis DurangoÌý(2-for-5) scored on a 3BÌýJose SermoÌý(2-for-4) single and they added a second run in the sixth when Sermo scored on an error. The T-Bones tied the game in the seventh when 1BÌýNoah Perio Jr.Ìýsingled home SSÌýMason DavisÌý(3-for-5) and CFÌýTodd Cunningham.

The score remained level until the 11thÌýwhen Durango hit a lead-off single and came around to score when 2BÌýJay BaumÌý(2-for-5) hit a one-out single.

¸é¹óÌýMichael Lang, DHÌýBlake SchmitÌýand CÌýDylan KellyÌýeach added a pair of hits for the Explorers.

Wichita 3, Cleburne 1 –Ìý

After giving up a run in the first inning, the Wichita Wingnuts kept the Cleburne Railroaders off the board the rest of the way to take a 3-1 win.

Cleburne’s SSÌýAngel RosaÌýhit a home run in the Railroaders’ first at-bat of the game but the Wingnuts tied things up in the fifth when 2BÌýLogan WatkinsÌý(2-for-5) tripled home SSÌýLeo Vargas. CFÌýZach NehrirÌý(2-for-3) gave the Wingnuts the lead in the seventh with a solo home run, his sixth of 2018, and Watkins added another insurance run in the ninth on an error.

For the Railroaders, 2B Trevor Sealey, 1BÌýPatrick PalmeiroÌýand CFÌýKC HuthÌýeach went 2-for-4 in the game.

Chicago 11, Winnipeg 9 –Ìý

The Chicago Dogs used an eight-run fifth inning to power past the Winnipeg Goldeyes 11-9.

The Dogs were trailing 4-2 heading into the fifth before taking control of the contest. In the fifth, CÌýMichael FalsettiÌý(2-for-4) hit a lead-off home run to kickstart the rally. After CFÌýKenny WilsonÌý(3-for-5) tripled, 2BÌýEdwin ArroyoÌý(2-for-4) doubled home Wilson and then scored when DHÌýTrey VavraÌý(2-for-5) singled. Later in the frame, SSÌýStephen PerezÌý(2-for-5) doubled in a pair of runs and two batters later Falsetti did the same thing.

Wilson plated the final run of the inning with an RBI single.

For the Goldeyes, 2BÌýTucker NathansÌýwent 3-for-5 with two RBIs and 3BÌýJosh MazzolaÌýwent 2-for-4 with three RBIs on two home runs.

Sioux Falls 5, Fargo-Moorhead 2 –Ìý

The Sioux Falls Canaries put together a late push and overcame an early lead from the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks to win 5-2.

Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks opened the game in the top of the first as ¸é¹óÌýTim ColwellÌýscored when 1BÌýChris JacobsÌýgrounded out. CÌýCharlie ValerioÌýadded a solo home run in the sixth to push the lead to 2-0. The Sioux Falls took the lead with four runs. LFÌýMike HartÌýscored on OFÌýJordan Smith’sÌýfielder’s choice and Smith ended up scored the final run of the rally alongside SSÌýJordan DeanÌýwhen 1BÌýDavid BerginÌý»å´Ç³Ü²ú±ô±ð»å.

Dean also added an RBI single and, in the eighth, ¸é¹óÌýChris GraysonÌý(2-for-4) scored on a wild pitch.

St. Paul 9, Gary SouthShore 1 –Ìý

The St. Paul Saints racked up nine runs as they dropped the Gary SouthShore RailCats 9-1 on Friday night.

The Saints gave up just one run in the game and it came in the top of the fifth inning when 3BÌýWill SavageÌýscored as 2BÌýCole FabioÌýbounced out. St. Paul was already leading by four runs before the RailCats found the scoreboard and then added five more runs in the bottom of the eighth innings.

All nine Saints recorded at least one hit in the game and three of them ended up with two. ¸é¹óÌýMax MurphyÌýwent 2-for-5 with an RBI and both DHÌýBrady ShoemakerÌýand CÌýJustin O’ConnerÌýhad two hits and two RBIs. LFÌýBurt ReynoldsÌýhit his 16thÌýhome run of the year.

Lincoln 16, Texas 6 –Ìý

The Lincoln Saltdogs turned 13 hits into 16 runs – including two six-run innings – and beat the Texas AirHogs 16-6.

SSÌýIvan MarinÌýhad three of those hits and added an RBI and two runs scored. CFÌýAlex GlennÌýand LFÌýBrandon JacobsÌýeach added two hits and Jacobs added three RBIs including his 16thÌýhomer of the year. Glenn, as well as DHÌýCurt SmithÌýand 1BÌýT.J. Bennett, also left the yard on the night.

For the AirHogs, ¸é¹óÌýStewart IjamesÌýwent 2-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored and SSÌýCasio GriderÌýalso had two hits. DHÌýDillon ThomasÌýhad a team-high two RBIs.
