³¢¹óÌýWillie CabreraÌýhit a walk-off, two-run double to beat Laredo, 3-2, Sunday afternoon at Midway Stadium in St. Paul.
Cabrera batted 2-for-4 with a walk in the game.ÌýWith the win, the Saints completed a three-game sweep of the Lemurs.
Right-handed relieverÌýDan SattlerÌýgot the win after striking out the side in the top of the ninth. RFÌýKeith BracholdÌýscored the Saints’ first run with a homer to lead off the bottom of the second.
Lincoln 5, Rockland 4 –
In the top of the ninth, Saltdogs’Ìý CFÌýMatt ForgatchÌýskied an 0-2 pitch into the stands in left field for a solo home run to beat Rockland, 5-4. CloserÌýMarshall SchulerÌýpitched a 1-2-3 ninth to seal the win, Ìýand right-handerÌýJhonny Montoya, who pitched a scoreless eighth, got the W.
¶Ù±áÌýIan GacÌýput the Saltdogs on the board in the first when he ended a 10-pitch at-bat with a two-run homer. He led the team with two hits.
Lincoln trailed 4-2 after home runs from Rockland 1BÌýJerod EdmondsonÌýand CÌýJoe Maloney, but Lincoln 2BÌýLuis NunezÌýtied the game with a two-run homer in the top of the eighth, setting up Forgatch’s heroics.
Grand Prairie 5, Quebec 3 –
Grand Prairie 1BÌýFrazier HallÌýsmacked a two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth, giving the AirHogs their first lead of the game, which they would hold on to for a 5-3 win. After Hall’s homer gave Grand-Prairie a 4-2 lead, 2BÌýAlex NunezÌýadded an RBI single later in the inning. SSÌýJimmy MojicaÌýled the AirHogs with three hits and two runs scored.
Quebec CFÌýSebastien BoucherÌýhit an RBI single in the sixth to get the Capitales within two, but his team would fall short, despite his superb day at the plate. Boucher went 3-for-4 with a walk.
AirHogs’ right-handerÌýJason JarvisÌý(4-1, 3.13 ERA) pitched six innings of three-run ball to earn the win. CloserÌýDakota WattsÌýnotched the save — his 13th this season — with a scoreless ninth.
Wichita 8, Sioux CityÌý5 –
Wichita starterÌýJason Van SkikeÌý(8-2, 2.57 ERA) allowed two earned runs across seven innings to lead the Wingnuts to an 8-5 win against Sioux City, completing a three-game sweep.
The Wingnuts used a five-run fifth inning, highlighted by CFÌýBrent Clevlen’sÌýthree-run homer,Ìýto break the game open. Clevlen went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and four RBIs. 2BÌýJake KahaulelioÌýalso had a strong day at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI.
CloserÌýMatt NeverezÌýsaved his 17th game of the season in the ninth.
Sioux Falls 4, Fargo-Moorhead 3 –
A go-ahead, two-run single from Canaries’ ÌýCÌýMatt HittÌýin the top of the sixth held up despite a late RedHawks rally as Sioux Falls took down Fargo-Moorhead, 4-3.
The Canaries scored two in the first on an error and an RBI single fromÌýChris ValenciaÌýand two more in the sixth on Hitt’s single. Valencia went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.
Trailing 4-2 in the ninth, the RedHawks threatened the lead, plating a run on a groundout by ¶Ù±áÌýPetey Paramore.ÌýSioux Falls closerÌýAlan DeRattÌýstruck out the next batter to end it, completing his 11th save. Paramore had all three of the RedHawks’ RBIs.
Canaries’ starterÌýKyle RuweÌýpitched seven innings of two-run ball to get the win.
Winnipeg 9, Kansas CityÌý3 –
Four Winnipeg batters had three-hit games, and the Goldeyes scored nine runs on 18 hits to beat Kansas City, 9-3. Goldeyes’ 2BÌýDonnie WebbÌýbatted 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, three runs scored and three RBIs.
RFÌýJosh Mazzola,Ìý1BÌýCasey HaertherÌýand CFÌýReggie AbercrombieÌýeach had three hits as well. Mazzola hit a two-run homer in the top of the fourth to give the Goldeyes a 7-0 lead.
On the mound, Winnipeg starterÌýNick HernandezÌýallowed three runs in 7 2/3 innings, striking out five for his sixth win of the season.
Amarillo 7, Gary SouthShore 6 –
In the top of the ninth, Amarillo 2BÌýTravis WeaverÌýsingled to third base, and CÌýJeff FarnhamÌýscored the go-ahead run on an error to beat the RailCats, 7-6. Amarillo trailed 6-5 in the seventh, but CFÌýJason Martin’sÌýRBI double tied the game at seven.
Sox ³¢¹óÌýDerek PerrenÌýand RFÌýJoe WeikÌýeach had three hits in the game. Right-handed relieverÌýRandy HamrickÌýgot the win after pitching the seventh, eighth and ninth without allowing a hit.
For the RailCats, CÌýRyan BabineauÌýwent 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a walk.
