The American Association had five of its current or former players in this week’s Australian League All-Star Game, led by Aussie strikeout leader Ryan Searle (Grand Prairie ’14, 40 strikeouts in 32.2 innings to go with a 2.76 ERA), who was the starting pitcher for the winning Team Australia.
Catcher Craig Maddox (Gary 2011-14), RHP Morgan Coombs (Gary 2012-14) have RHP Justin Erasmus (pictured, Fargo-Moorhead 2014), OF C. J. Beatty (Lincoln 2012), now in the Chicago White Sox farm system, were also in the game.
